Jonesing For A Tour

Jones’ latest album – The Fall – with its guitar riffs and darker sound represents a change in direction for the lady whose Grammy winning debut album – Come Away With Me – captivated music fans with her jazz-flavored songs.

“I did some demos of (songs) and they came out really well, but some of them sort of begged to go in a different direction,” Jones told Associated Press during an October interview.

“I realized, I think, what I want to do is work with some different sounds,” Jones added. “I figured that the best way to do that was to try and step outside of my comfort zone a little bit, and work with some different musicians and a different producer. It just felt like a good time to do that.”

The tour begins March 5 in Tulsa at the Brady Theatre. The next stop is Kansas City at The Midland by AMC March 6 and Omaha at the Orpheum March 7 is the third date.

Other cities scheduled for March include Des Moines (March 9), Akron (March 11), Indianapolis (March 13), Milwaukee (March 19), Chicago (March 20) and Baltimore (March 30).

The next month begins with Jones in Charlottesville, Va., at the Paramount Theatre April 1. Washington, D.C., is up next with a gig planned for the Warner Theatre April 2, followed by Philadelphia at the Tower Theatre April 3. Other April engagements include Seattle (April 18), Portland, Ore. (April 19), Los Angeles (April 23) and El Paso (April 29).

May shows include Dallas (May 4), Birmingham (May 9), Memphis (May 8) and Nashville (May 14). Last date on the schedule is Atlanta at the Cobb Energy PAC May 15.

Ticket onsales for individual markets take place during the next three months with Akron, Milwaukee, Baltimore, D.C. and Portland, going on sale Friday, Dec. 4.
