But that’s OK with McIntyre. The singer/songwriter has forged his own career playing intimate venues that allow him and his fans to share a more personal concert experience.

McIntyre also has a new EP coming out. Titled Here We Go Again, the disc lands in stores Dec. 8, giving fans plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the new music before hearing it performed live next month.

And it’s a short tour. Beginning Jan. 14 in NKOTB’s hometown of Boston at Paradise Rock Club and ending Jan. 20 in Chicago at Lincoln Hall, McIntyre also plays West Chester, Penn., at The Note Jan. 15; New York at the Highline Ballroom Jan. 16 and Toronto at The Mod Club Theatre Jan. 18.

McIntyre’s upcoming EP has been described as “mix of rock and hip-hop infused dance tracks” that is different from anything he’s ever done.

“It’s pop, dance urban rock,” McIntyre said. “There’s a thriving energy and urgency in the music that represents where I am right now. I want to get in your face and rock.”

McIntyre also has a special offer available only on iTunes and other music download stores. Called Mac Pac 3000, the collection features the new EP, personal photos and a booklet with liner notes and lyrics. The plan is to issue only 3,000 copies of Mac Pac 3000, making the download a limited-edition collector’s item.

The Toronto show goes on sale Dec. 4 while all U.S. dates go up Dec. 5. For more information, please click here for JoeyMcIntyre.com.
