If you’re like the rest of the world, including the city of New York, you prefer to have a little ceremony with your decorating and invite a few friends over.

Rod Stewart, Rob Thomas, The Muppets, Jo Dee Messina, Michael Bublé, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Barry Manilow, The Roots and Shakira will all be on hand tonight as the tree in NYC’s Rockefeller Center is lit for yet another year.

The one-hour show, which also featuresTaylor Schilling and James Tupper (“Mercy”), Jane Krakowski (“30 Rock”), Zachary Levy (“Chuck”) and “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams, will air on NBC beginning at 8 p.m. EST/PST.
