In January Midlake launches its 2010 tour with a number of U.S. dates, followed by a U.K. and European tour, and then another round of North American shows.

It all begins Jan. 5 at Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge, La., with U.S. shows scheduled through a Jan. 12 gig at Revolution Music Room in Little Rock, Ark.

Additional dates include The Engine Room in Tallahassee, Fla. (Jan. 6), Village Tavern in Mount Pleasant, S.C. (Jan. 9), Grey Eagle in Asheville, N.C. (Jan. 10) and Hi-Tone Café in Memphis, Tenn. (Jan. 11).

The U.K. and European tour kicks off Jan. 22 at The Cluny in Newcastle, U.K. and wraps up Feb. 18 at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The tour also makes stops in France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland.

Midlake then return to the states March 1 with a gig at Plush in Tucson, Ariz., and dates through a March 12 show at Jackpot Music Hall in Lawrence, Kan.

The lineup for SXSW has yet to be announced but Midlake has confirmed the band will play a slot during the March 17-20 Austin, Texas, festival.

After writing and recording the band’s third full-length album for over two years, The Courage of Others is set to be released Feb. 1. Earlier this week Midlake released Acts Of Man, a limited edition 180 gram 12” vinyl single that features two songs from the new album. The singles are only available at independent record stores in the U.K., E.U. and the U.S.
