P Is For New Puscifer Dates

After taking a few months off the road, Maynard James Keenan, lead singer for Tool and A Perfect Circle, will return to the stage in March with his side project, Puscifer, for a tour of the East Coast. A few Canadian dates will also be thrown in for good measure.

“Efforts to confine our beloved enigma to the Southwestern United States have been thwarted,” said Keenan.  “We are compelled beyond all reason to bring the noise Eastward and share our special sauce. Although authorities suggest you be prepared for any and all possibilities, we simply suggest you arrive happy and hungry.”

All hail Puscifer! Maynard James Keenan (of Tool and A Perfect Circle) shows off his side project.

For the most part, the tour includes two nights in each city but Keenan has promised that cities with two gigs will each be two entirely different shows featuring music, comedy and performances.

The tour kicks off with two shows March 2-3 at CW Center Stage in Atlanta and wraps up April 2-3 with two shows at Pantages Theater in Minneapolis.

Additional dates include Lincoln Center in Washington, D.C. (March 5-6), Apollo Theater in New York (March 13), Queen Elizabeth Theater in Toronto (March 19-20), Vic Theater in Chicago (March 26-27) and Roberts Orpheum Theater in St. Louis (March 30).

Tickets will go on sale in early 2010. Visit Puscifer.com for details.

The Las Vegas Review Journal describes Pucifer shows as “a performance art spectacle” and the Salt Lake Tribune says it “challenged our preconceptions of what to expect from a rock show.”

Along with Keenan, Pucifer features a rotating group of musicians including Mat Mitchell, Tim Alexander, Jonny Polonsky, Matt McJunkins, Jeff Friedl, Carina Round, Lustmord, God, Laura Milligan, Milla Jovovich Gil & Rani Sharone, Danny Lohner, Josh Eustis, and Juliette Commagere.

Last month Keenan released a six-song EP called “C” is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference HERE), a follow-up to the band’s 2007 debut album, “V” is for Vagina.
