Producers of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards announced today that Nick Jonas & The Administration will be the house band for the Jan. 15 ceremony.

During the show, which will be hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and broadcast live on VH1, the group will play a mix of their own songs and covers.

Pretty impressive for a band that won’t kick off its first tour until Jan. 2 and won’t release its debut album until a month later.

Nick and his siblings insist that this solo project doesn’t mean that the Jonas Brothers are in any danger of ceasing to exist. Still, I hope Joe and Kevin have some alternative plans for the future.
