Jamie Cullum Pursues North American Tour Dates

To celebrate the U.S. release of Jamie Cullum’s new album, “The Pursuit,” the British singer/songwriter/pianist/multi-instrumentalist is headed to the states this spring for a North American tour.

The Pursuit is Cullum’s fifth studio album and first release in four years. It was released in the U.K. and Europe in November, placing in the Top 10 on the iTunes Top Album Chart in the U.K., Germany, France, Spain and ten other countries.

The album features nine Cullum original tracks as well as five cover songs including Cole Porter’s “Just One Of Those Things” and “Love For Sale,” Rihanna‘s “Don’t Stop The Music,” Leslie Bricusse’s “If I Ruled the World” and Stephen Sondheim‘s “Not While I’m Around.”

“The Cole Porter cover at the start won’t surprise you, but the house track at the end just might,” Music Week’s Andy Morris writes. “Cullum’s fifth album does justice to his musical influences: from the Portishead-tinged ‘If I Ruled The World’ to the wonky groove of ‘We Run Things,’ it’s bold, experimental and the best thing Cullum’s done.”

The album is set for release in the U.S. March 2.

The U.S. tour kicks off March 4 with a gig at Town Hall in New York and wraps up March 25 at The Avalon/Bardot Hollywood in Los Angeles.

Additional dates include House of Blues in Boston (March 6), Massey Hall in Toronto (March 9), Roberts Orpheum Theatre in St. Louis (March 14), Park West in Chicago (March 16), Moore Theatre in Seattle (March 21) and The Fillmore in San Francisco (March 23).

After the North American tour concludes, Cullum returns to his homeland for a U.K. tour that stretches May 7 through May 22. He then hits up Europe, making stops in Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium and France May 25- June 10.
