Blige Clears Air Over Brawl

A recent Mary J. Blige record release party in New York City became quite a family affair when the singer reportedly stepped in to stop an argument between her husband and brother.

After reports initially claimed Blige had gotten involved in the brawl, punching her husband for allegedly flirting with a waitress, the hip-hop diva set the record straight with the New York Daily News.

“Mary was not fighting with her husband,” a spokeswoman for Blige told the paper. “Her husband and her brother got into an altercation that turned into a fight. Mary went to break up the fight.”

The spokeswoman also denied that Blige had compared her husband to singer Chris Brown during the incident, adding that the couple “went home together” following the party.
