ZZ’s Billy Gibbons Is Big In Japan
But his ride might be more popular as the ZZ Top guitarist proudly showed off his classic car from the ‘50s earlier this month at the Mooneyes Hot Rod and Custom Show in Yokohama.

Described as Gibbons’ latest “automotive oeuvre,” the 1958 Thunderbird was airlifted to Japan. Called “The Mexican Blackbird” after the song of the same name that appeared on the band’s 1975 album – Fandango! – the automobile was the hit of the show. Having Gibbons standing next to it didn’t hurt, either.
Those of you on Gibbons’ Christmas card list have probably already seen this beauty from Detroit’s heyday. But that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the photo and video embedded below.
