HoB Eggs Cage-Free

House of Blues has launched a franchise-wide initiative to serve cage-free eggs to its customers.

HoB, which claims to use more than 2 million eggs annually for its dining menu and “Gospel Brunch” buffet, stopped using eggs from hens confined in battery cages Jan. 1, according to a statement from the Humane Society of the United States.

“By switching to cage-free eggs, House of Blues has taken an important stand against one of the most inhumane factory farming practices,” the Humane Society said. “We applaud House of Blues and hope other entertainment companies will follow its lead with the food they sell.”

Last year, California voters passed the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, which phases out battery cage confinement statewide.
