Promoter Guilty In Mortgage Fraud
Aaron C. Simmons, a Charlotte, N.C., concert promoter, reportedly pleaded guilty Dec. 22 in a year-long mortgage fraud investigation that nailed 10 others as well.
Simmons, listed in court documents as controlling Nexxt Level Productions and Nexxt Level Properties, was charged with one count each of mortgage fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy, according to the Charlotte Observer.
He faces a maximum of up to 15 years in prison and fines that could exceed $500,000. Simmons’ attorney told the Observer her client wasn’t aware he was participating in fraudulent activities but agreed to plead guilty to “take responsibility for his actions.”
