Guy Richard Has New Home

Guy Richard, the longtime music agent at William Morris who recently resigned, has a new home. And, no, it isn’t ICM, as had been rumored.

“I’m absolutely delighted that Guy has chosen to join The Agency Group,” TAG chairman Neil Warnock said in a statement.  “What he will bring with his depth of knowledge and many years experience will expand the quality of the services that we provide to our clients in the L.A. office.”

Richard will join TAG Jan. 11 as vice president of the L.A. branch.  TAG president Steve Martin said he was “thrilled” to have his old friend at the agency and said Richard would be a “huge asset for us worldwide.” Martin used to work at William Morris alongside Richard.

“I am very excited to be joining The Agency Group,” Richard said.  “I am thrilled to be reunited with my longtime friend Steve Martin, and I look forward to helping Neil Warnock and his terrific staff of agents grow into the future. … Special thanks to my friend Larry Shields.”

Shields, a former adult contemporary music agent at WME Entertainment, is also a TAG émigré.

Richard told Pollstar that two of his longtime clients – Tower of Power and Average White Band – have agreed to make the transition.
