Matt Groening’s ATP Lineup
“Simpsons” and “Futurama” creator Groening’s ATP fest takes place May 7-9 at Butlins Minehead in Somerset. The coastal town of Minehead is located about three-and-a-half hours from London.
Additional acts chosen by Groening include CocoRosie, Built To Spill, James Chance & The Contortions, Thee Oh Sees, Juana Molina, Lightning Dust and Konono N°1.
The lineup also featuresPanda Bear, Deerhunter, Daniel Johnston, The Residents, Boredoms performing Boadrum, The Raincoats, Broadcast, Toumani Diabate, Danielson, James Blackshaw, Amadou & Mariam, Shonen Knife, Ruins (Solo), Viv Albertine’s Limerence and Anni Rossi.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £163.50pp (US $262.23) for room only and £173.75pp (US $278.67) for self catered. The ticket price includes a ticket to the festival in addition to three nights of accommodations. The “room only” option features a private bathroom, bed and a TV. The “self catered” option includes a private bathroom, private bedroom, a kitchen with cooking facilities and a lounge with a TV.
This is Groening’s second time curating an ATP fest. In 2003 he chose the lineup at The Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif., with acts including Built To Spill, Cat Power, Deerhoof, Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, The Shins and Spoon.
The third edition of ATP New York takes place over Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 3-5 at Kutsher’s Country Club in Monticello, N.Y. Iggy & The Stooges will perform 1973’s Raw Power in its entirety as part of ATP’s “Don’t Look Back” series. Sleep will put on 1992’s Holy Mountain, Mudhoney will perform the 1990 compilation Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles and The Scientists, in their first U.S. show ever, are doing 2000’s Blood Red River: 1982-1984.
Pavement is headlining and curating another edition of ATP at Butlins Minehead May 14-16. The lineup also features Quasi, The Walkmen, Calexico, Mission Of Burma and Broken Social Scene.
