Thanks For The View

Like our Year End Cover photo? We do too. And it’s all because of a fantastic, Germany-based photographer named Ralph Larmann.

Pollstar would like to extend its gratitude to photographer Ralph Larmann, who provided the shot for our year-end cover.

Larmann has an outstanding pedigree and has spent the last decade, as head of Ralph Larmann Company, photographing events across Europe. As this issue was being published, he had just returned from photographing “Season of Light” in Helsinki (You can check out the results here – www.seasonoflight.fi).

And he had the amazing opportunity to use one of this decade’s great photographic technologies – the 360 shot – to give a viewer the sensation of being onstage with U2 at Wembley Stadium. Don’t forget to check out the unwitting star – the stagehand hiding in the stairwell!

When he wasn’t following the U2 360 tour, some of Larmann’s recent concert photo gigs included Pink, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue and Bon Jovi, The Police and Genesis, as well as shooting the Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm. He also was hired to shoot the Volkswagen & BMW presentation at the IAA 2009 in Frankfurt.
