Verizon Center GM Finkel Dies

Steve Finkel, the GM of the Verizon Wireless Music Center amphitheatre in Indianapolis, lost his battle to cancer Jan. 4.

Finkel, who had a rare form of bladder cancer, told Pollstar in December the cancer had spread to his ribs and spine and was in the hospital with pneumonia.

That didn’t detract Finkel from having a 2010 goal of raising more than $100,000 for Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation.

He had already raised $68,000.
