Fuller Burgled

Simon Fuller may be the genius behind The Spice Girls and “American Idol,” but he’s probably not going to be a spokesman for the American Express card anytime soon.

Fuller left home without it when he and his wife went to Uruguay. The couple’s rental villa was burgled of US$100,000 in cash and jewelry Jan. 7, according to global news agency AFP, including a watch, a gold and diamond bracelet, and a gold chain encrusted with diamonds and sapphires.

Currency in dollars, pounds and euros were also missing, as were the couple’s passports. “I don’t want it ending up in the newspapers,” Fuller reportedly said in a police report. “I don’t want exposure.”
