‘Hope For Haiti’ Telethon Taking Shape

Bono, Justin Timberlake and Sting are just a few of the artists scheduled to perform at the “Hope For Haiti” telethon scheduled for Jan. 22.

Speaking at the Golden Globes Awards, George Clooney said Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys will also perform at the benefit hosted by the actor, CNN newsman Anderson Cooper and Haiti-born musician Wyclef Jean.

The telethon will air Friday night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific times, according to CNN.

The game plan calls for Clooney to host the telethon from Los Angeles, Jean from New York and Cooper broadcasting on location from Haiti.

Organizations benefiting from the telethon include the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America, Partners In Health and Jean’s Yele Foundation, which recently came under fire for alleged shoddy bookkeeping practices.
