Scheduled To Appear – 1/20

The “Hope For Haiti” benefit telethon just keeps getting bigger and bigger as Bruce Springsteen, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake join the already talent-heavy list of artists scheduled to perform.

Called “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief,” the MTV Networks-sponsored telethon airs commercial free Friday night, Jan. 22 on just about every TV channel in the known universe, including CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, VH1 and CMT. Show time is 8 p.m. Eastern / Pacific.

But the alphabet soup of channels and networks listed above isn’t the entire list, for the special will also air on pay channels HBO and Showtime as well as cable channels Comedy Central, Bravo, E! Entertainment Network, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, Centric, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, Epix, G4, Palladia, SoapNet, Discovery Health, Planet Green and Style. Canada’s CTV, CBC Television, Global Television and MuchMusic will also air the telethon.

In addition to Springsteen, Jay-Z and Timberlake appearing, expect performances by Taylor Swift, U2’s Bono and The Edge, Rihanna, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and Christina Aguilera. Expect more artists to be announced.

MTV is promising several one-of-a-kind collaborations as the telethon originates from two U.S. cities – New York and Los Angeles – as well as ground zero in Haiti. George Clooney will host from Los Angeles, Wyclef Jean from New York and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will report from Haiti.

While you’re thinking about how much you’ll donate to help Haiti’s earthquake victims, here’s what’s on the tube tonight and the rest of the week.
