Scheduled To Appear – 1/22

There’s only one show you need to know about – “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief” – appearing tonight on almost every TV channel known to man.

You got to give some credit to the music community for getting this thing together so quickly after last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti. Of course, having MTV as one of the main organizers helps, as does having Haiti-born Wyclef Jean as one of the hosts. But getting broadcasting companies and music artists mobilizing so quickly to put tonight’s show together is an amazing feat in itself.

“Hope For Haiti Now” airs on all major networks, music channels like MTV and Fuse, as well as channels you wouldn’t normally expect to be involved in a telethon of this magnitude, such as National Geographic and Discovery Health. The telethon is airing on so many channels, in fact, that if you close your eyes and punch randomly at your TV remote buttons you’ll more than likely land on the program.

The show will air from Haiti and three cities – New York, London and Los Angeles. George Clooney will host from L.A., Wyclef Jean from New York and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will broadcast live from Haiti. Meanwhile, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Madonna will be among the artists performing in London.

Who else is performing? Basically a who’s who of the music world, including Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Bono and The Edge, Coldplay, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend and more. Many, many more.

There will also be more than a few familiar, non-musical faces helping out, including former president Bill Clinton, Muhammad Ali, Leonardo DiCaprio, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
