Not Even Better Than The Real Thing
The Chinese government has made good on its promise to punish singers who don’t sing live in concert.
Two Chinese pop stars have been fined for lip syncing during live performances, according to the Beijing Youth Daily.
The ban was introduced last year after a worldwide controversy erupted about lip syncing at the Beijing Olympics’ opening ceremony.
Two female singers, Yin Youcan and Fang Ziyuan, were caught lip syncing at a concert in Sichuan last September, where they were not the main attraction but rather guests of the headline singer.
Both will be forced to pay a total of about 80,000 yuan ($12,000), according to authorities.
