Pink Remains Australia’s Sweetheart

Pink was the most played artist in Australia in the year ending June 2009, according to figures from The Phonographic Performance Company of Australia.

It was the third year the US singer achieved the feat – but not surprising given that her “Funhouse” tour through Michael Coppel Presents did 58 shows and grossed A$80 million ($72 million), setting a new record for female artists.

Kings Of Leon were the second-most played act followed by Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Coldplay. The Veronicas were the most played Aussies.
