Stein Suspect Denies Confession

Natavia Lowery, on trial for allegedly murdering her boss, Linda Stein, in October 2007, is claiming her confession to the murder wasn’t legit.

Defense attorney John Christie reportedly said in his opening statement that Lowery made up the confession “to give the police what they wanted to hear.”

Prosecutors claim Lowery beat Stein to death with a piece of exercise equipment allegedly because Stein found out Lowery had stolen many thousands of dollars from her. If convicted, Lowery faces 25 years to life in prison.
