Sailing Southern Ground With The Zac Brown Band

Newly minted Grammy winner Zac Brown Band has an offer you can’t refuse – a four-day cruise from Tampa to Grand Cayman. Oh, and did we mention it’s on Labor Day Weekend?

Turns out Zac and the boys, which won Best New Artist at Sunday evening’s Grammy Awards, are experienced sea dogs when it comes to music cruises. They first set sail on the 2004 Rock Boat after achieving victory in a Birmingham, Ala., battle of the bands that was judged by Andy Levin, owner of Sixthman LLC, the outfit that puts together several music cruises each year.

Since 2004 the Zac Brown Band has sailed on four Rock Boats, two Simpleman Cruises and Cayamo. Guess you can say these guys definitely have their sea legs.

The Sailing Southern Ground cruise departs Tampa aboard the Carnival Inspiration Sept. 6 for Grand Cayman and returns Sept. 6. Along with the Zac Brown Band, the seagoing festivities include performances by Michael Franti & Spearhead, Blackberry Smoke, Nic Cowan, Gaelic Storm, Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowery and Oakhurst.

“We’re excited to have another chance to spend four days at sea hanging out with our fans,” Brown said. “The Sixthman cruises are a great opportunity for us to give fans a taste of the full Zac Brown Band Experience.”

Tickets are on sale now with prices starting at $699. For more information, click here for the Sailing Southern Ground Web page and here for the Zac Brown Band’s Web home.
