Steinbrenner Suit Dismissed
A breach of agreement suit against New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has been dismissed in a New York court.
The suit, filed by former Madison Square Garden President Robert Gutkowski, alleged he was the “conceptual architect” of the Yankees TV network that debuted in 2002. The exec claimed he’d entered an oral agreement with Steinbrenner in 1996 for which he’d be “fairly compensated for his idea and efforts.”
However, the judge ruled the purported agreement was “unenforceable” and the statute of limitations had expired for the case.
