America Hearts Chelsea
The “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” tour kicks off March 10 at Chicago’s Rosemont Theatre and now includes 34 shows in 21 cities, including three at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
Because most of the initial shows sold out almost immediately, second shows on the same day have been added in Chicago; San Francisco; Portland, Ore.; Seattle; Miami; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; Minneapolis; Boston; Austin; Philadelphia; Houston and New York City.
Tickets for the new shows go on sale Feb. 5.
Handler’s spring trek is in conjunction with the release of her third book, “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang,” which hits shelves March 9. In addition to her live shows, the comedian will be dropping in on bookstores along her tour route to meet fans and sign copies of “CCBB” and her two other best-selling tomes, “My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands” and “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea.”
These days, when she’s not writing, performing live or hosting her hilarious and highly-rated E! Entertainment bitch-fest “Chelsea Lately,” Handler is often busy overseeing her own “Kings of Comedy”-style national touring company, “The Comedians of Chelsea Lately,” which features a stable of stand-up comics who regularly appear on the show.
Here’s Chelsea’s wry-yet-practical take on the new season of Logo’s drag queen diva competition, “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” from last night’s show. Genius.
