Seymour Stein Testifies In Murder Trial
Sire Records founder Seymour Stein is helping Manhattan prosecutors reconstruct ex-wife Linda Stein’s last day alive, as well as the activities of her accused murderer.
Stein, who signed such artists as Madonna and the Talking Heads, testified at the trial of Linda Stein’s personal assistant, Natavia Lowery, Feb. 4. He said he spoke briefly to his former wife on the phone at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 30, 2007.
He called Linda again six hours later, and was told by Lowery that she was out running. Prosecutors say by that time, Lowery had already beaten her to death.
Seymour Stein said testifying marked “a very sad day for me.”
Lowery denies killing Stein, a real estate broker who had co-managed the Ramones.
