A Ragged & Restless Road Trip

Cross Canadian Ragweed and Reckless Kelly hook up for a short tour scheduled for the first half of March, proving once again that it’s not the length of the schedule but the skills of the musicians that matter.

And there’s a lot of skill in both groups. Often referred to as two of the hottest Red Dirt touring bands in the biz today, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Reckless Kelly have partnered for the “Ragged And Reckless” tour, which is probably how fans will feel after these two bands rock them senseless all night long.

“We first saw Reckless Kelly in 1998 in Dallas and our jaws dropped, and we said that’s who we need to jam with,” Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Cody Canada said.

“After a couple of years of chasing those guys we finally got to be friends with them. There’s not a harder working band of brothers than our two bands and we wear that like a badge of honor. We look forward to this run and the rehab that follows.”

The tour begins March 3 in Nashville at the Cannery Ballroom. The next date is March 5 in Charlotte, N.C., when the tour plays the Neighborhood Theatre, followed by March 6 in High Point, N.C., at the Aquarius Music Hall.

March 7 is Raleigh, N.C., at the Lincoln Theatre, March 9 brings the tour to Atlanta to play the Variety Playhouse and Birmingham, Ala., is set for March 10 at the Workplay Theatre. Last stop on the tour is March 11 in Ruston, La., at Rabb’s Steak House.

“I’ll probably come back with a couple of good stories from [that run], I imagine,” Reckless Kelly’s Willy Braun said. “It’s been a while since we’ve done a full-on tour with those guys, so that will be pretty fun.
