If you guessed Madonna for the puzzling news, give yourself a free pass on the next cinematic masterpiece the Material Girl is involved with.

In what can only be described as the most incomprehensible guest appearance ever, the singer has been tapped to appear on Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming reality series “The Marriage Ref.”

No, she won’t be picking up free tips on how to hang on to a 23-year-old “model and aspiring DJ” – she’ll be giving advice. To an actual married couple. Who are already having problems.

Considering the fact that both of Madonna’s marriages ended badly, I’m guessing her advice will mainly consist of “don’ts.”

And what’s the good news? It looks like the powers that be at “Saturday Night Live” are poised to rectify a situation that’s long-overdue for remedy when they tap Betty White to host the show.

The impending decision comes as a result of a Facebook campaign, “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!, that numbered almost 300,000 fans as of Saturday.

SNL chief Lorne Michaels is reportedly taking the campaign seriously, as is the 88-year-old comedian.

If White gets the gig, she’ll be joining several former co-workers: Mary Tyler Moore, Ted Knight, Ed Asner and Bea Arthur all belong to the SNL host fraternity.
