Gorge’s New Look

The picturesque Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wa., is getting spiffed up for 2010 with work underway to replace the shed’s stage and rigging system.

Live Nation Pacific Northwest VP Danny Wilde explained that while the old stage has been a familiar part of the backdrop at the 22,000-capacity venue for years, the time has come for an update.

“The needs of the modern touring production have outgrown the old guy, so it is time to replace it with a new system that will ensure Live Nation is able to continue to bring the biggest and the best touring artists in the world to this unbelievable location,” Wilde said.

Renovations to backstage facilities and initial front of house improvements will also take place during the revamp.

The Gorge’s season begins with the Sasquatch! Music Festival Memorial Day Weekend.
