This won’t be the first time Tankian has performed “Elect The Dead Symphony.” That milestone occurred during March 2009 when the System Of A Down frontman presented the album with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at the Auckland Town Hall.

The brief Euro run of “Elect The Dead Symphony” begins in Moscow at the Crocus Hall where Tankian will perform with The Symphony Orcestra Globalis on June 17.

Playing with local orchestras on every date, the second night of the tour is scheduled for Warsaw’s Amfiteatr Sowinskiego, where Tankian will be accompanied by the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The tour’s third performance takes place in Prague’s Mala Sportovni Hall with the Czech Nat’l Symphony Orchestra, while evening No. 4 is set for Linz, Austria, at the Brucknerhaus with the Bruckner Orchester June 27.

Other stops include Berlin (June 30), Milan (July 4) and Rome (July 5).

You can see what the fuss is about by attending one of the special theatrical screenings taking place nationwide depicting the New Zealand performance. If that’s not happening in your town, then you’ll have to wait for the March 9 release for the special CD/DVD package.
