Lieberberg’s Giveaway Days
Promoter Marek Lieberberg is helping fans celebrate the 25th anniversary of Germany’s biggest festival by adding an extra free day to Rock Am Ring and its younger 15-year-old sister Rock Im Park.
The events at the 85,000-capacity Nürburgring Formula One circuit and the 75,000-capacity park in Nuremburg – which have lineups including KISS, Rage Against The Machine, Muse and Rammstein – will both open a day earlier June 3.
Fans who bought the three-day tickets now have a four-day festival.
“We sold out the Ring the earliest we have ever done, four months in advance, and being the 25th anniversary we then decided to add a day,” Lieberberg told Pollstar, predicting the Nuremburg festival would also sell out in advance. ‘Think of it as a sort of birthday cake for the fans.”
Other acts on the bills June 3-6 include Them Crooked Vultures, Jay-Z, Sportfreunde Stiller, Bullet For My Valentine, Gogol Bordello, Editors, Kasabian and Dizzee Rascal.
