Straight No Chaser will kick off their spring run with a pair of sold-out shows April 5-6 at Colorado’s Boulder Theatre, just prior to the April 13 release of With A Twist.

The group’s PBS holiday special, “Live in New York: Holiday Edition,” proved so popular that many dates on their upcoming trek sold out in minutes when first announced in December, forcing them to move some shows to larger venues and add additional performances in other cities.

Even Pollstar’s hometown of Fresno, Calif., hasn’t been immune to Straight No Chaser fever. Tickets for the group’s May 14 show at the city’s Tower Theatre disappeared so fast, a second show has been added on May 21.

Disappointed fans in places like Chicago; Northampton, Mass.; Atlanta; Miami; Dallas; Seattle and Portland, Ore., should check again to see if their luck has improved.

Also sure to add fuel to the fire is a brand new PBS special, “Live In New York,” which was filmed at the city’s famed Angel Orensanz Foundation and will air on PBS stations during the network’s annual March pledge drive.

A DVD edition of the show, featuring additional material, will be offered as a special gift to PBS patrons making a pledge at the required dollar amount.

Twist, SNC’s third full-length and second non-holiday release, features innovative vocal arrangements of songs like Soft Cell’s ’80s smash “Tainted Love,” the Crowded House monster hit “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” Queen’s heartfelt anthem “You’re My Best Friend,” the Red Hot Chili Peppers power ballad “Under the Bridge,” Barry Manilow’s “One Voice” (featuring an appearance by the man himself) and a crowd favorite at the group’s live shows, a Jason Mraz/Judy Garland mashup of “I’m Yours” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Fans of SNC can get a preview of the new album and the upcoming tour March 8, when the group holds a live web chat with fans and performs selections from the disc at SNCMusic.com.
