Thorogood and company will launch their never-ending trek Friday night at the perfect spot for a $%!-kickin’ bunch of rockers – the Fox Theater in Bakersfield, Calif.

Also already on the books through early June are stops in places like Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, Portland, Calgary, Toronto and all parts in between, with tons of additional dates in the offing.

Joining George for the run are original Destroyer drummer Jeff Simon, longtime bassist Bill Blough, lead guitarist Jim Suhler and sax player Buddy Leach.

And what can fans expect to hear besides Thorogood’s signature tune, 1982’s “Bad to the Bone?”

“I do the tour for all my fans,” the singer said. “So we will be doing both the fan favorites and ‘George’s favorites’ – and we will all have a good time.” (That sounds like an order to me, people!)

Despite all of his accomplishments, including being the first (perhaps the only) band to hit 50 states in 50 days, Thorogood still has one humble ambition as his main goal.

“I’m just trying to hold my gig,” he explained. “I just want to make sure that at the end of the night the promoter comes up and says, ‘I want to hire you again.’”
