NACPA Meets At Pollstar Live!

The North American Concert Promoters Association held its annual meeting at the J.W. Marriott Hotel February 16, the first day of the Pollstar Live! conference.

The members discussed general industry issues, the state of the business as we head into the 2010 concert season, and the growing importance of greening their business practices.

Independent promoter Bill Silva was elected President of the NACPA board of directors where he will be joined by Live Nation’s Michael Belkin and Brian Murphy and AEG’s Larry Vallon and Alex Kochan.

Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Internet retailer Zappos.com sat in on the meeting and offered the promoters some further insights into their business. NACPA sponsored Hsieh’s talk on “Delivering Happiness: Customer Service & Internet Marketing” later that afternoon.

That session was open to all delegates and was widely considered one of the most enlightening parts of the Pollstar Live! program.
