Universal Theme Park Opens
Universal Studios opened its new Singapore theme park Feb. 14 to visitors for a special eight-day sneak preview before its official, full-scale opening in March.
All the available tickets for the preview period, which were priced at S$10 (about $7), were sold out.
The theme park, Universal Studios’ first in Southeast Asia, is part of the $4.6 billion Resorts World Sentosa project, which also opened Singapore’s first casino Feb. 14.
The park includes attractions related to ancient Egypt and the future, as well as tie-ins to Hollywood movies and TV shows like “Shrek,” “Madagascar,” and “Battlestar Galactica.” It also features the world’s “tallest dueling roller coasters,” but the rides were not operational during the preview period.
