Stone Temple Pilots 2010 Dates

Stone Temple Pilots‘ first record is nine years will soon be hitting stores and we’ve got the alternative rock band’s first round of U.S. dates to go along with it.

STP’s first dates of 2010 kick off March 18 with a performance at this year’s edition of South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

The band then plays the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel/Riverdome in Bossier City, La. (March 19), with March dates booked through March 31’s gig at The Fillmore Detroit.

Additional dates include Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee (March 26), Riviera Theatre in Chicago (March 27) and Louisville Palace Theatre in Kentucky (March 30).

STP is booked for WMMR BBQ at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, N.J., May 23 along with Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, Fuel and Skillet.

In June STP play Europe. Dates begin with June 11’s slot at Nova Rock Festival at Pannonia Fields in Nickelsdorf, Austria and run through June 25’s performance at Graspop Metal Meeting at Boeretang in Dessel, Belgium.

There are also gigs scheduled for Ireland, the U.K., Germany and France.

A full-scale North American summer tour will be announced soon.

The band’s self-titled sixth studio album is set for release May 25 both in stores in the U.S. and internationally and online. Stone Temple Pilots marks the Grammy Award-winning band’s first new studio album since STP’s 2002-2008 hiatus and 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da.

The new album was produced by the band and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, who has worked with artists including Green Day, Dave Matthews Band and My Chemical Romance.

“Fans are going get a great STP record… a really cohesive record with songs that are going to be lasting,” bassist Robert DeLeo recently told Spin. “We know what STP sounds like – we have a sonic blueprint.”
