Atlantic Yards Breaking Ground

After years of fits and starts, the developer of the Atlantic Yards project in New York City that will house the future home of the New Jersey Nets has plans to break ground March 11.

A state supreme court judge in Brooklyn recently rejected a legal challenge by a group of businesses and homeowners in the borough who object to the project’s use of eminent domain.

While the state has been cleared to seize the property that will eventually feature the Barclays Arena, office towers and apartments, the opponents claim two pending court cases could still halt the project.
