For a while, at least, Pollstar is claiming Rock Sugar as our own. Oh, sure, there are radio DJs in Tennessee that can claim it, a podcaster, some dude in London and apparently everybody in Memphis for some reason, but we’re going to ignore all of them.

The thing is, we posted a mention of the band – notably because they didn’t have an agency, which struck us as unique. That didn’t last long; Paradigm signed them within 24 hours.

So here’s the thing with major agencies: they tend to get you gigs, and fast. Rock Sugar had bunches of requests through their Web site, but one publicist to try and field them all. Hence, one gig in Elgin, Ill. And, now, the in Memphis. They’re playing that Sunday, for those who are going. But Angela’s been getting some new help from Brian Hill and Curt Motley, and Brian told Pollstar they got ANOTHER gig on the books, but we don’t know what it is yet.

Hill says there are plenty of requests to take care of. Since we are so tight with Paradigm, when there’s a full-fledged tour, we promise you we’ll be the first to tell ya!

Another thing that major agencies do? They get in contact with late-night television talk shows. We hear there are folks there that are getting informed about the band right now. Which is, like, cool.

Meanwhile, the singer, Jess Harnell, is supposed to call in tomorrow if one news editor gets out of the eye doctor’s office in time.

What is all of this blogging about? Obviously we’re angling for an office visit. As in OUR office. To make it clear, that means not your office.
