On Tuesday the rapper’s label, Gracie Productions, released a statement asking for help in tracking down the 24-year-old. The label said it hadn’t been in contact with J-Kwon for almost a month, according to MTV.com.

“J-Kwon is a big part of the Gracie family, and we are obviously increasingly worried and want to make sure he is OK,” Gracie Productions CEO/President Tony Bucher said in the statement.

“We’ve already received thousands of e-mails from fans and supporters who are worried about J-Kwon, and we want everyone to know how much we appreciate the love and support. If anyone has seen J-Kwon or has access to him, please let him know we are worried about him, and to please let us know everything is ok.”

The label set up a Twitter account, @WhereIsJKwon, to collect tips from fans and provide updates concerning news of J-Kwon’s whereabouts.

On Thursday the Twitter page was updated with the following message: “GOOD NEWS!!! J-Kwon has made contact, and is ok. We don’t know all the details yet, but he seems to be all good!”

After checking in with his label, Gracie Productions made another statement on behalf of the rapper. J-Kwon declined to make a public statement.

“I am very happy to let everyone know that I personally spoke with J-Kwon today, and he is okay,” Dorian Washington, co-CEO of Gracie and CEO of D.Wash Management, told HipHopDX.com.

“He’d like to send a sincere apology to his friends and everyone who showed concern this week. He was taking some time to himself as he sometimes does, not realizing that people would start to worry after a while. A few days out of touch versus a month is quite a difference. Right now he just wants to keep doing what he’s doing, and will be more available for those who care about him. We thank you again for your outreach, and we are relieved to know he’ll be alright.”

Before J-Kwon was located, a rep for Gracie Productions told MTV.com that the rapper was working on a self-titled album set for release on March 23.

Hmm. It’s wonderful that J-Kwon is safe and well, but it’s certainly interesting timing that he went missing exactly three weeks before the release of his upcoming album. Who knows – maybe he just went on a solo road trip without first twittering his location.

J-Kwon signed with Gracie Productions in early 2009 to a 2-album worldwide distribution deal.

He’s best known for his chart-topping hit 2004 hit “Tipsy,” from his debut album Hood Hop. After signing with Gracie, the rapper released a 2009 digital download titled Hood Hop 2 and a follow-up album Hood Hop 2.5.
