Dramatics Founder Dies
Founding member of The Dramatics Ron Banks died of a heart attack in Detroit’s Sinai Hospital March 4.
The Dramatics, which first hit the Detroit R&B scene in the ’60s, scored numerous pop and R&B hits during the 1970s and have continued touring since that time. Hits included “Watcha See is Watcha Get,” “In The Rain” and “Get Up and Get Down.”
Banks’ last gig with the band was at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino last November. Surviving members of the group are expected to continue touring and recording new material.
