Nashville Scores Folk Fest

The National Folk Festival is putting down new roots in Nashville beginning next year.

The annual event, dubbed the “oldest and longest-running multi-ethnic traditional arts festival in the nation” is moving to Music City 2011-2013, with the final year marking its 75th anniversary.

The free fest relocates every three years and is expected to draw more than 80,000 people in 2011. This will be its final year in Butte, Mont.

Nashville was picked over 40 other cities in a competitive process.
