Arrests At N.Y. Rap Concert

Niagara Falls, N.Y., police arrested five people March 13 when fans turned away from an over-capacity rap concert allegedly tried to push their way in.

Police superintendent John Ciella told the Buffalo News ticketholders got mad when admission to the show at Conference Center Niagara Falls was stopped because of overcrowding.

Ciella said fights broke out as a result with Taser guns and pepper spray used to break them up. One officer was reportedly bitten on the leg during the chaos.

Five people were arrested on charges ranging from felony assault to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to the News.

City officials are reportedly to meet with Conference Center staff to discuss how to keep that scenario from happening again.

It’s not known how many people attended the show, but a local promoter said he had anticipated 2,000.
