Promoter Sues Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo and a booking agent, Troy “Fats” Byam of BBM Booking and Management, are being sued by a Trinidad promoter for $709,977 the promoter claims he spent on a concert that never happened last year.

Roy Maharaj of Tristar Promotions filed a lawsuit at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia seeking costs for performance and booking fees, airfare, hotel rooms, tickets, advertisement and securing the Queens Park Oval for the show, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Ne-Yo’s appearance was originally scheduled for December 2008 for “Boxing Night” at a venue in Port of Spain, Trinidad, but reportedly was rescheduled for April 2009. Maharaj claims the performer never showed for the makeup date and hasn’t returned the money. Ne-Yo is repped in North America exclusively by Cara Lewis of William Morris Endeavor.
