Apparently Jones went on stage at the Resorts World Sentosa’s Compass Ballroom last night, sang two songs and then announced he couldn’t continue, according to The Straits Times.

“I have a problem,” Jones told the audience as he cleared his throat. “Honestly, I don’t think I can carry on. I hope we can do this again soon.”

Jones then left the stage, leaving about 4,000 fans wondering if the early departure was some kind of stunt. Some even began singing the chorus to Jones’ 1968 hit, “Delilah.”

According to the singer’s Web site, last night’s show as well as a March 28 gig in Manila at the Araneta Coliseum have been postponed because of acute laryngitis, but he hopes to make up the dates next week.
