AC/DC: Money Talks

Figures released by promoters Garry Van Egmond and Chugg Entertainment announced that AC/DC’s 11 Black Ice World Tour shows in Australia Feb. 11 to March 6 grossed A$82 million (US$74.1 million).

Final attendance for Australia in the figures released by the promoters was 629,029, which set a new Australian record for attendance by a band.

Ticket prices ranged from A$99 to A$149.90 for the shows at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, Brisbane’s QSAC, Adelaide’s SACA and Perth’s Subiaco Oval.

The three New Zealand shows at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium and Auckland’s Western Springs grossed NZ$16.5 million (US$11.5 million). The dates, Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, attracted 110,363 fans.

AC/DC’s five extra US shows begin April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on before Louisville, Kansas City, Des Moines and Milwaukee. The world tour winds up in Europe with 17 stops, the first being May 14 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
