Lollapalooza 2010 Lineup

All right, enough of the games. It’s time to get serious because Lollapalooza has finally announced more than just a few letters of its 2010 lineup. This year’s festival headliners include Soundgarden, Green Day and Lady Gaga.

Last month festival organizers begin dropping hints about the lineup through a giant “Wheel of Fortune”/ hangman-style game set up on its official Web site. As of March 31, organizers had revealed every “O” contained in the bands’ names booked for Lollapalooza. The next day, the letter “R” was added.

Rolling Stone hypothesized that this meant that the five-letter/three letter artist on the top of the bill with one “R” and not a single “O” had to be Green Day – and that all of the “O”s proved that the lineup also included Phoenix and The Strokes.

And yes, indeed, all three of those bands will be rocking out at Chicago’s Grant Park Aug. 6-8.
