Stage Design Stars In Troubadour Reunion Tour
The VIP Stage Seats accomplish more than one purpose. Sure, they give fans a chance to get extremely close to Ms. King and Mr. Taylor, but at the same time the special seating helps raise funds for charities. Consider it a win/win resulting in the best seats in the house done up in a nightclub setting.
But not just any nightclub. The tour is named after the six sold-out shows King and Taylor headlined at West Hollywood’s Troubadour in 2007 as part of the club’s 50th anniversary celebration, as well as the artists’ multiple appearances at the venue during the ‘70s.
“When we first talked about reuniting, we knew we wanted to bring the Troubadour to life,” Taylor said. “These Stage Seats are one small way to pay homage. We also saw a national reunion tour as an opportunity to support the great work that charities are doing all across the U.S.”
Arranged as tables for two, the VIP Stage Seat package also includes access to the soundcheck, a pre-performance private reception with complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres, a commemorative tour book and a special event tour laminate.
The packages are being sold through Tickets-For Charity, which so far has raised more than $600,000 through its VIP Stage Seats offering for the King / Taylor tour, benefiting several organizations including Habitat For Humanity and Autism Speaks.
“Creating this unique stage seating for charity was very exciting for me – and, I felt, a very natural extension of my collaboration with James,” King said. “We are both as passionate about the importance of giving back as we are about our music. And we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to positively impact so many outstanding social and environmental causes with this tour.”
