SCI’s Trick Or Treat

Promising an epic weekend of “Incidents” the String Cheese Incident announces its “Hulaween” plans, slotting two nights at the Hampton Coliseum.

The String Cheese Incident has a long tradition of Halloween “Incidents” where anything can happen and usually does. Past Incidents included the band staging a red carpet welcome hosted by “Joan Shrivers” as well as a tribute to Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

We don’t know what the band will do this year. So far, all SCI has said about their Halloween weekend shows scheduled for Oct. 29-30 in Hampton, Va., is that the Disco Biscuits will play the first night.

Keeping with SCI philanthropy, 25 cents from every ticket sold for these shows will go to support three nonprofit organizations – HeadCount, Rex Foundation and Conscious Alliance.

If you’re a stranger to the SCI Halloween ritual, the band offers a cram course through its 2009 live CD, Trick Or Treat, which is packed with some of the best performances of Halloween weekends past, including the band’s 1998 Atlanta gig at the Variety Playhouse, the 1999 Electric Factory show in Philadelphia and the 2005 Madison concert at the Alliant Energy Center.

A fan club presale begins April 12 while the general public onsale begins April 23. Both begin at high noon (EDT). For more information on this year’s “Huloween” blowout, click here for the String Cheese Incident Web site.
