Will Tweet For Tickets

Echo & The Bunnymen are offering 12 lucky fans the chance to win a free pair of tickets to one of their upcoming U.S. dates by simply retweeting select tweets from the band’s official Twitter page.

After performing just a few North American shows this past October and then being forced to cancel their November dates because of “unreasonable demands” by the IRS, the post-punk band’s upcoming trek marks the Bunnymen’s first U.S. tour in support of its most recent release, 2009’s The Fountain.

Frontman Ian McCulloch and guitarist Will Sergeant first started working on the album in 2007 and it was recorded at Parr Street Recording Studios in Liverpool, U.K.

McCulloch calls The Fountain “the best thing we’ve done since [1984’s] Ocean Rain.”

If you’re interested in catching one of the Bunnymen’s April or May shows for free, here’s all you have to do for your chance to win a pair of tickets:

If you’re not already, start following the band on Twitter and then keep an eye out for tweets from the guys that say “Win Bunnymen tickets for [insert city/venue] by retweeting this tweet.” Once you see the name of the venue of the show you’d like to attend, retweet that message (For example, you would simply tweet “RT @OfficialEATB Win Bunnymen tickets for [insert city/venue] by retweeting this tweet”)

Fans that retweet the message will each have one chance to win a pair of tickets for a show at that specific venue. To keep fans on their toes, the Bunnymen will not necessarily be tweeting the venues in order of the tour.

The band is giving away tickets to each of their upcoming U.S. dates, excluding April 16’s performance at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

After playing Coachella, Echo & The Bunnymen perform at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel/Casino in Sparks, Nev., with U.S. dates booked through the band’s May 1-2 two-night stand at Fillmore New York At Irving Plaza.

Additional shows include The Fillmore in San Francisco (April 19), Metro/Smart Bar in Chicago (April 21), Keswick Theatre in Glenside (April 25), State Theatre in State College, Pa. (April 28) and Black Cat in Washington, D.C. (April 30).
