Wynn Drops Foxwoods Philly

Wynn Resorts Limited has pulled out of all agreements and negotiations regarding the Foxwoods Casino project in Philadelphia, the company announced.

While casino impresario Steve Wynn had just signed a letter of intent expressing interest in the project in February, the allure of Foxwoods apparently faded fast.

“We are fascinated by the legalization of full gaming in Pennsylvania and stimulated by the opportunity that it presents for Wynn Resorts, but this particular project did not, in the end, present an opportunity that was appropriate for our company,” Wynn said in a statement.

The company recently met with Mayor Michael Nutter to discuss plans for the waterfront casino and submitted drawings to the state gaming control board, according to the Phildelphia Inquirer.
